Ceilings along exterior walls stain first, usually at the perimeter where moisture collects, and the texture over them is often hand-troweled rather than sprayed — which means the repair has to be matched by hand too.
A lot of the housing here has been remodeled more than once, so cutting into a ceiling can reveal several generations of previous patchwork at different thicknesses. We allow for that in the estimate rather than discovering it as a change order.
