What North Park does to drywall
North Park is where plaster meets drywall. Kitchens get opened up, a wall comes out, and suddenly a new board plane has to meet an eighty-year-old plaster surface with a completely different texture and thickness.
Those transitions are the interesting part of the job. Done properly, the eye reads one continuous wall; done cheaply, there is a visible step where the two eras meet.
